| Quote: | Capturing Sunrises and Sunsets
SUMMARY: Tips on getting clear, exciting sunrise and sunset photographs.
Here are some tips to capturing great sunrises and sunsets using your digital camera.
1) Scout out the location beforehand. Find a picturesque area during the day when you have plenty of time, not while you are scrambling around during short periods of sunrise or dusk.
2) Check out the newspaper or the local television stations for exact sunrise/sunset times. Plan your day accordingly. You don't want to be waiting for a check at a restaurant during the peak sunset period.
3) Be very careful when pointing your lens towards or at the sun! The sun can damage your camera lens, so after taking your photographs, immediately place a lens cap on your digital camera.
4) Experiment. Don't just do the standard 50% landscape 50% sky photo. Take some photos where more of the sky is present, others where more landscape is visible. Take a couple turning your camera 90 degrees to the side to get even more of the sky or landscape in your photograph.
5) Use a tripod when possible. Set it up before the sun starts to rise or set and you'll be able to take very clear, crisp photographs. |

Yellow Allamanda
|
|
| Quote: | Yellow Allamanda
Allamanda cathartica L. or Akar Chempaka Hutan - The name Allamanda comes from Dr. F. Allamanda, a professor of natural history in Leyden in the latter part of the 18th Century. It is a common shrub which flowers all year round. A native of tropical America, it is now widely found throughout the tropics because of its attractive flowers. The common names are Yellow Allamanda, Common Allamanda and Golden-Trumpet. The Malaysian names are Bunga Akar Kuning and Akar Chempaka Hutan.
This is a woody scrambling shrub with oblong leaves which are arranged in opposite pairs along the stem. Flowers are wax-like yellow in color and funnel-shaped. The plant has a milky sap which oozes out as soon as any parts are broken. Propagation is by stem cuttings. |
juge dikenali sebagai BUNGA LOCENG
Bunga neh ako tangkap kat klcc... n kat laman umah kat kampong pon belambak.. tapi ako tatau nama nyeh.. agagagagaga ~

Working With Line
|
|
| Quote: | When considering the composition of an image one of the elements that I suggest digital camera owners look for are ‘Lines’.
The lines that can be found in images are very powerful elements that with a little practice can add dynamic impact to a photograph in terms of mood as well as how they lead an image’s viewer into a photo.
Over the next few posts I’ll consider three types of lines, ‘horizontal’, ‘vertical’ and ‘diagonal’. Each one has a different impact upon a photograph and should be looked for as you frame your shots.
Learning how to use lines in photography doesn’t just happen. It takes time and practice to become good at it.
A good way to practice is to go back through older images that you’ve taken and look for lines that worked well and those that didn’t.
Then next time you go out with your camera, before you frame your shot consciously ask yourself what lines are in front of you and how you might use them to add something to you next shot by working with them rather than against them.
Also ask yourself whether the lines form any interesting patterns that you might be able to accentuate to add a further layer of interest to the shot.
